Trudge
A trip to Singapore is always a humbling experience for me. When I see my parents and siblings working hard for a living, it grounds me and gives me a wake up call to turn my life around and be passionate about life. This time round, I was back because of work and drew a lot of insights from my short trip which I might write about some other time if I can spare some minutes.
It can seem pleasant working for a good firm and the perks are always there with respectable salary, benefits, etc. but at the end of the day you are simply a slave. All corporate companies are disguised business running on a pyramid scheme; the ones lower in the chain slave for the few on the higher echelon. Though I relatiate being part of this but I rationalize my current duty as part of an apprenticeship period in-lieu of a better and more fulfilling life in the future.
I've been seriously putting some thoughts into my own businesses. I firmly believe in commodities as a base business before venturing into tetiary products and services. My little knowledge and instinct in turning businesses around (something I acquired as an agent), once more refined should be enough to allow me to penetrate into a chosen commodity market I am passionate about. For instance, simple bottled water industry. Commodity companies that do well have usually few key things in common; excellent operating principles and strong marketting. Using such a business as a base, it would be easier to open up tetiary business (sticking to the water example; you could market and sell sparkling water that u could custom adjust the carbonation level to your preference by a button on the bottle, patent pending..hehe)
Maybe eventually, I can start my own Toy factory(with micro remote control submarines that be used to chase the smallest fish in the aquarium)...even if it doesn't make money but just for the fun of it...but meanwhile, I will crack my head over my seed businesses.
I will end my writing for now..I hope to stop procastinating. Kick me in the head please.
