Driving down I-35
I'm listening to Breathe by Telepopmusik on my ipod. It brings back memories of driving at breack neck speed (excess of 130 mph at times) in my red eclipse from my apartment in North of Austin, TX to downtown Austin during the weekends. I used to hang out at this street close to UT Austin that was known to attract an eccentric crowd. There were a bunch of coffee shops, video arcade shops, etc. I will play Breathe on my CD player inaddition to Oakenfold, etc., while I downshift the stick-shift transmission to overtake a Texan truck. The roar of the engine will be in background while the car pounces forward, executing a perfectly seamless manouveur as it changes lane in high speeds.
Also brings sweet-sour memories as I remember Bubutummy visiting me during those times. Driving down to San Antonio, Houston, New Orleans..all the way to Orlando! I lived in Austin for about a year...right now when I think of it, it almost appears surrealistic. I almost feel like it was a dream. I felt really isolated during that year; a period of deep self-reflection...
I'm flying home to California tomorrow. I've spent 2 nights at my apt in the last 5 weeks. I am indeed lost in translation.

chibey, really suck being away from home so long. i sympathise with you. but this thing about your eclipse reaching 130mph is total BS. that car was a p.o.s.
Kaninas..allow me to B.S. a little dude. It might have been a parallex error when I read the speedometer...I did mention it was surrealistic didn't I? Weren't you reading?
but to the eclipse credit..it does look faster than it runs so people tend to believe I am doing 50 when in fact I am only doing 25. In addition, the numerous downhills on I-35 allows cars to pick up extra 10-15 mph. So when the sun, moon and planet bobo aligns, it is possible to reach 130+ on the Eclipse.
welcome back mike. so when does this puerto rico fantasy end?
btw, my wife will be here in less than 48 hours. woohoo.
